A Former Support Staff Member’s Call for Accountability Over Qalandars City Plots
On May 25, 2025, Lahore Qalandars made history by winning their third PSL title. Under the fearless captaincy of Shaheen Shah Afridi, the team showed discipline, unity, and that trademark Qalandars resilience that’s carried them from underdogs to champions.
It was a proud moment — not just for the players, but for everyone who works behind the scenes.
As Sameen Rana took the stage and announced iPhones and bonuses for the entire squad, the room lit up with joy. Players, coaches, analysts, and even the social media team were included. “There’s an iPhone for everyone,” he said.
And while the announcement mirrored the franchise’s tradition of generosity, for some of us… it also reopened old wounds.
The Qalandars Have Led Through Thick and Thin
Let’s be clear: Lahore Qalandars is no ordinary franchise. Over the years, they’ve invested in talent no one else saw. They discovered and developed players from remote towns, gave opportunities to young dreamers, and built what many call the best High Performance Centre in Pakistan.
Even off the field, they’ve supported causes like environmental protection, education, and public health. And in moments of triumph, they’ve often rewarded generously — gold-plated iPhones, cars, bonuses, public praise.
We’ve seen their loyalty. We’ve felt it.
But when it comes to delivering those rewards fully and fairly, especially to the support staff — the cracks start to show.
Qalandars City Plots: A Promise Left Hanging Since PSL 8
In 2023, after winning PSL 8, Sameen Rana proudly announced that all players and staff would be given residential plots in Qalandars City as a token of appreciation. It was a powerful gesture — one that made every long night, every edit, every logistic nightmare feel worth it.
That reward felt like a piece of Lahore. A piece of history. A piece of home.
But 800+ days later, nothing has been delivered. No updates. No communication. Not even a reason.
Support staff like me—who stood by Qalandars through every rise and fall—are still waiting. Messages were sent. Calls made. Emails written. Nothing came back.
We stayed silent for 2 yerars. Then we launched #AskQalandars — a respectful, principle-based public campaign, simply asking:
“What happened to the PSL 8 Qalandars City plots commitment?”
Still, silence.
New Rewards Announced, Old Commitments Ignored?
After PSL 10, another round of iPhones and bonuses was announced. And yes — it’s admirable. Yes — it shows that Qalandars still care about their people.
But what message does it send when new rewards keep coming, while older, more meaningful promises remain forgotten?
Why do those who carry cameras, build content, manage logistics, and promote the brand relentlessly get cut off or left behind when it’s time to deliver?
Where is the same fairness that defines their on-field game?

A Call for Leadership That Doesn’t End at the Boundary
To Lahore Qalandars’ management: you’ve shown the world what visionary cricket looks like. You’ve led this franchise through failure, ridicule, pressure, and finally to glory. You’ve won hearts — and rightly so.
But great leadership isn’t just about winning matches. It’s about honoring promises.
We’re not asking for sympathy. We’re asking for clarity. We’re not trying to damage your brand. We’re fighting to protect it.
Because this silence is doing more harm than any hashtag ever could.
So here it is, once more, with respect:
- The Qalandars City PSL 8 plot rewards were announced publicly — if something has changed, that too deserves a public update.
- If there’s a valid reason for the delay or non-fulfillment, communicate it transparently with those affected.
- If the original promise can no longer be kept, consider offering a fair and respectful alternative of equivalent value.
Because without that, all the rewards in the world feel empty.
Until then, we’ll keep asking. With dignity, loyalty, and the same Qalandars spirit you taught us.
